D. AMY AKIYAMA Amy Akiyama practices in the area of general civil litigation with emphasis in tort litigation and worker's compensation defense. She has trial experience in personal injury, real property and worker's compensation. Amy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government at California State University Sacramento with honors, and her Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree at the University of San Diego (cum laude), where she earned American Jurisprudence awards in contracts, property and conflicts of law and served as a member of the San Diego Law Review. She is admitted to practice in California State Courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of the State of California and is an active member of the State of California Bar. Amy is a member of the American Bar Association, North County Bar Association, and San Diego County Bar Association. She also sits on the San Diego Superior Court Arbitration Panel. Professional organizations include the San Diego Defense Lawyers, American Inn of Court (Enright Chapter), and the San Diego Insurance Adjusters (associate member). Amy serves as a volunteer to Prevent Blindness America, San Diego Division. Amy provides services to the North County Judicial Branch as a settlement panelist.
